Fast track recognition for Australian university degrees in Greece

The Australian Embassy in Greece announced on Friday (local time) that degrees from 45 Australian universities can now be recognised in Greece with a much simpler process.

The development aims to foster job mobility, knowledge transfer and closer people-to-people links between Australia and Greece.

The application, according to the embassy follows a very simple and straightforward process online described as “almost automatic recognition”.

“Greece has passed law 4957/2022 making the process for the recognition of degrees from universities in its National Register of Recognised Foreign Universities much more straightforward,” the Australian Embassy in Greece said in their announcement.

“Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum duration of 3 years), a Master’s Degree (minimum duration of 1 year), a Juris Doctor or a PhD from the 45 Australian universities in the list can now expect to be granted academic equivalence in 60 days from the day of application to DOATAP (Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Centre).”
