July holidaymakers streaming out of Athens

Increased passenger traffic at the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio is expected today, as the departure of the July holidaymakers continues, while others want to escape for a weekend to a nearby island in the Argosaronic Gulf.

On Saturday, 22 ships sailed from the port of Piraeus, while for Argosaronic destinations 11 trips with conventional ships and 24 with high-speed ferries , 12 itineraries from Rafina and 7 from the port of Lavrio.

The port authority has taken all the necessary measures to facilitate passengers, while an early arrival at port of at least an hour ahead of departure will ensure boarding, due to increased traffic on the surrounding roads.

On Friday 08/07, 23 ships departed from the port of Piraeus while 21,225 passengers, 3,414 vehicles, 756 trucks and 584 two-wheelers departed. There were 41 ship departures for the Argosaronic Sea, while 8,438 passengers, 1,001 motor vehicles, 37 trucks and 329 two-wheelers departed.
