Snowfall and low temperatures, with very icy conditions, will continue into Wednesday, according to the latest meteorological data on Tuesday night.
Civil servants in Attica and Central Greece overall are expected to physically return to work on Tuesday, as of 10:00 am and regardless of their regular schedule, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
The severe weather front that has hit Greece since Sunday affecting mainly the eastern and southern parts of Greece will continue until Wednesday with new snowfall at low altitudes of the eastern areas, Evia and Crete, as well as with rain or sleet in the Aegean, according to the new forecast data of the National Observatory of Athens/Meteo.gr.
Schools across Attica will remain closed on Monday 6 February as decided by the Regional Governor of Attica. The statement was made in connection with the arrival of the cyclone “Barbara” on the territory of the country.
As the Attica regional authorities have announced, the public street markets will be closed on Monday 6 February.
