Greece has considerable experience in managing earthquakes and knows that time is of vital essence under such critical times, that is why it sent rescue teams to Türkiye as soon as possible, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told CNN on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Greece to support Israel during voting at the UN. The Israeli prime minister made the request during a meeting in Jerusalem with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.
In a significant upgrade in bilateral relations and of deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, a Common Statement of Strategic Cooperation between Greece and Japan was signed on Monday by visiting Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida at the latter’s residence in Tokyo.
According to diplomatic sources, this is in order to be informed about the situation in the region after the last developments.
Dendias said that Greece was always a warm supporter of the EU perspective of Albania and all the Western Balkan states “in the context of a just conditionality, which is strict but fair”.
The permanent representative of Greece to the UN underlines in her letter that "Greece maintains all its rights under international law and calls on Libya and Turkey to respect Greece's sovereign rights"
