The Greek government on Wednesday unveiled a new package of support measures worth 800 million euros aimed to offer relief to pensioners, taxpayers and enterprises hit by a wave of inflationary pressures.

Staikouras described the meeting as “tense”.
“Therefore, the work must continue, as it is indeed happening,” he noted.
Sources say Staikouras called on banks to show sensitivity to the needs of society and to come back with proposals, after examining their financial data and evaluating the practices followed abroad.
