It’s official: Rapid test presentation by unvaccinated workers comes to an end

Health Minister Thanos Plevris has announced when the ‘burden’ with the mandatory rapid test for unvaccinated workers will end.

In particular, Mr. Plevris, speaking on Real Fm radio, said that after the end of the extension of the measure (until March 31), the rapid test will no longer be mandatory for unvaccinated workers. In response to a question from Nikos Hatzinikolaou, the minister stressed: “Yes, we have given a delay until March 31st. However, after that, it may not be necessary. But at least for the winter time we want to be “protected” in every sense of the word. Therefore, until the end of March, unvaccinated workers will continue to be tested.” And he continued: “It helps, although the workers continue to complain about the fact that their pockets were left empty, and they are “kind of fed up with all this.” For our part, we have every evidence that an unvaccinated person, if they get sick, should receive treatment earlier, because they do not have the immunity that the vaccine produces.

So since April unvaccinated workers will stop paying out of pocket for a once-a-week rapid testwhich can cost up to 40 euros per month, depending on whether it is carried out in a diagnostic center or a pharmacy.
