The first same-day delivery of parcels and light cargo using drones now appears on the horizon for Greece and Cyprus, following the announcement of a partnership between Golden Cargo and Dronamics, the first such airline with an operating license for Europe and IATA‘s first strategic partner for drones worldwide.
Dronamics announced that Golden Cargo will serve as its general sales and service agent (GSSA) for Greece and Cyprus. Next up is the creation of a droneport network in both countries.
Dronamics Co-Founder & CEO Svilen Rangelov said the company was looking forward to fully developing and exploiting the Greek and Cypriot markets.
According to a press release, the new partnership pledges to complete same-day deliveries, mostly with its main carrier, the Black Swan UAV.
The latter is able to transport up to 350 kilos over a distance of 2,500 kilometers, and according to its promotional material, by up to 80 percent faster, cheaper and with up to 60 percent less emissions than other alternative modes of transport.
