Ankara continued to rev up provocations in the eastern Aegean on Wednesday, oblivious to increased international attention over its saber-rattlings and belligerence, with two separate overflights of Greek territory by two pairs of Turkish F-16 fighter planes.
The first incident was reported at 14.33 local time (12.33 GMT), with a pair of Turkish warplanes passing over the small populated isle of Agathonissi at 10,000 feet.
A minute later, a second pair of intruders passed over the uninhabited Anthropofagi rock islet at 17,000 feet.
According to Greek military sources, throughout all of the 2021, 48 incidents of illegal overflights by Turkish aircraft were recorded, while the number so far in 2022 reaches 166.
