Greece: Online platform opens for booking updated Covid-19 vaccination

The first such vaccinations for eligible individuals are set for Sept. 14

Greece’s health ministry on Monday afternoon opened an online platform for citizens to book a fourth booster shot against the Covid-19 virus.

The first such vaccinations for eligible individuals are set for Sept. 14.

According to public health officials, the updated vaccinations – by Pfizer-Biontech and Moderna – are based on the m-RNA technology and are effective against the variants Omicron 1, 2, 2.7 and 5.

The specific vaccines are available for individuals above the age of 12, with recommendations varying from country to country, based on epidemiological data and inoculation coverage.

Greek public health officials also said the specific booster is aimed for individuals that have received two or three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, regardless of the maker.

Three months need to have also passed since a previous vaccination for the coronavirus.

Priority will be given to individuals in “at-risk” groups.
