‘Although Greece was the overwhelming favorite but Ukraine actually led by 7 after the first half (39-46). However, the Greeks went on a quick 8-0 run in the third quarter (61-53) to take a comfortable lead. Giannis’ 41 points is the highest figure in EuroBasket since Dirk Nowitzki’s 43 points in 2001.
‘At one point, Giannis scored 13 straight points for Greece until the streak was broken by Tyler Dorsey. With Antetokounmpo dominating on both sides of the court, Greece won the third quarter by a whopping 21 points (32-11) to lead by 14 after 30 minutes (71-57).
‘Although the Ukrainians tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, the effort was unsuccessful as the Greeks enjoyed their fourth victory in EuroBasket 2022.’
