The Greek national team is giving us glimpses of the preparation matches ahead of Eurobasket 2022, where having Giannis Antetokounmpo will enhance Greece’s chances of claiming a place on the medal podium.
The Greek star of the Milwaukee Bucks seems to look excited to don the “blue and white” singlet.
In his new post on Twitter, with a photo from the friendly match of the national team against Spain at OAKA, he states that “I’m here for the ride”.
A phrase accompanied by the characteristic… grimace of the Greek Freak, which has become established on the NBA floor.
Antetokounmpo made waves Sunday night when he said that playing for the Chicago Bulls “down the line” is a possibility.
The 27-year-old mentioned Michael Jordan and Chicago’s NBA titles as one of the few reasons he would consider joining the Bulls.
When asked about playing for Chicago, the Greek Freak said that he, like everybody else, would love to play for such an iconic franchise.
“I think anybody you ask that question [to], that plays basketball, if he said no, he’d be a liar,” Antetokounmpo said. “It’s a team that won multiple championships. It’s a team that one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player to ever played this game, played for.
“It’s a no-brainer. Everybody would love to play for Chicago. Down the line, you never know, you never know how life brings it, maybe I play for Chicago. But right now I’m committed to Milwaukee.”
In the clip, Antetokounmpo is sitting in front of a backdrop that has a logo of a brand called Antidote Health, a company that provides affordable healthcare.
Antetokounmpo joined the cause by investing in the brand and by being its ambassador.
He is also wearing an Antidote Health shirt below his blazer, so the whole “joining Chicago in the future” thing is probably just for publicity.
Antetokounmpo has showed the Bucks loyalty time and time again, and this past season, he led Milwaukee to crush the Bulls in the NBA Playoffs.
