Jordan sends firefighting helicopter Mi-26 to Greece

Issa Alhijazin thanked Greece for its hospitality and praised the excellent level of the Greek-Jordanian relations

Jordan sent to Greece a firefighting helicopter Mi-26. The helicopter was sent at King of Jordan and the government of Jordan’s initiative and is in Greece from July 29 with a 16-member crew and will remain in the country for a few days and will be ready to operate immediately in case it is necessary.

According to Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry, at an event held on Tuesday, Deputy Minister for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas warmly thanked Jordan and while addressing the members of the Jordanian crew he underlined the importance of the cooperation between countries of the region against the climate crisis.

On his part, the Jordanian Embassy’s Charge d’ Affairs Issa Alhijazin thanked Greece for its hospitality and praised the excellent level of the Greek-Jordanian relations as well as the two countries’ constant readiness for the provision of mutual contribution in emergency issues.
