Greece-based air carrier Aegean on Thursday announced an agreement with Saudi Arabian tourism and business group Elaf, with the latter representing the airline in the Saudi Arabian market. Aegean has invested in the Saudi market by inaugurating direct flights connecting Athens with Riyadh and Jeddah since 2015.
During talks between the two sides on Wednesday, held on the sidelines of a very high-profile official visit to Greece by Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud at the head of a large government and business delegation, touched on the prospect of Aegean increasing weekly flights between the two countries – especially after the delivery of new AIRBUS neo 320 and 321 planes. Another destination broached is Gulf city of Dammam.
