Mitsotakis meets with Netflix co-CEO in Athens

A later announcement said the Greek government appreciates the economic and cultural value of the audiovisual sector

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos to his Maximos Mansion office in Athens on Thursday, with the former briefing the influential American entertainment and media executive on his government’s aspirations in the audiovisual field.

A later announcement said the Greek government appreciates the economic and cultural value of the specific sector, as well as the opportunity that it provides for the east Mediterranean country’s promotion on the international stage.

The meeting was also attended by Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Deputy Minister of Culture for Contemporary Culture Nicholas Yatromanolakis, the secretary general of digital governance & simplification of procedures Leonidas Christopoulos, as well as Alexis Patelis, the chief economic adviser to the premier.
