Union announces 24 hour strike for buses and trams in Athens

A protest gathering is also scheduled to be held at OASA’s headquarters at 11:00 am.

Athenians and visitors to the Greek capital are advised that buses and trams in Athens will not run today Wednesday 29 June, due to a 24-hour strike announced by the Athens Urban Transport Organization’s (OASA) workers’ union.

A protest gathering is also scheduled to be held at OASA’s headquarters at 11:00 am

The union says that OASA’s tender with the long-distance coach service KTEL, which is privately operated, should not be extended for another year, as it “does not promote the public nature of urban transportation.”
