Maria Sakkari passed Gauff and remains in the quarterfinals

Sakkari began pushing Gauff from the beginning in her service. She did not succeed in the first, but she made the break in the 3rd game and took the lead.

The Greek Champion kept the serve and then made another break for 4-3. Gauff found herself immediately with two breakpoints to repeat the immediate response, but this time Sakkari erased them, made it 5-3 and then, holding her serve, won the first set 6-4.

The second set was full of alternate emotions. Maria made the break again, Gauff had an answer once again, but the Greek champion made another break at a crucial point, leading 6-5 and holding her serve took the set 7-5 and the victory with 2-0.
