The need for international initiatives for peace in Ukraine, with an immediate ceasefire and an end to the Russian invasion, dominated the meeting between SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Sunday in Fener.
According to the announcement of the SYRIZA’s press office, “Alexis Tsipras referred extensively to the need for constant support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the message it conveys in relation to the ecumenical spiritual values of Hellenism.
At the same time, they also talked about the vital request for the reopening of the Theological School of Halki and exchanged views on the support of the Greek minority in Istanbul and Imbros.”
